Access

Its journey with a battery
- 1
Stepping in at end of life
This role comes into play at end of life, once the battery is taken in by an approved recycler or an authorized treatment facility.
- 2
Extended read access
In addition to the public data, it views the data needed for safe dismantling and treatment.
- 3
Declaring the recycling event
Its only possible action is to declare the recycling event — facility identifier, date, certificate. This declaration permanently closes the passport: it is no longer exposed to the public, to approved operators, or to other recyclers.
Verification-gated access
Access to the approved-recycler role is conditioned on a waste-treatment authorization verified by the platform.
What the history shows
By default, this role sees only the date of the passport's last update, not its full history.
